I’m Kentucky girl and proud of it!  I was born and raised in the Bluegrass state and as such, it’s often the subject of my writings.  My Now That’s Interesting series from McClanahan Publishing is designed to teach school-aged children about some of Kentucky’s unique history, people, and landmarks.  As a former elementary teacher, I now spend several days each year visiting schools across the state and speaking with approximately 10,000 children! 

    In August of 2010, my first novel was released!  Inspired by an old photo I found while doing research in college, With Purpose and Promise is the story of Lilly Kate Overstreet struggling to be the first in her family to graduate from high school.  Along the way, she hits a few road bumps but discovers a new game called basketball!  Be sure to watch the trailer on this website to learn more!
